OM ShipsCAL tackled the unique issues faced by the organisation in operating an international team across different time zones and locations. These challenges were no different to those faced by many other organisations, just exaggerated by geographical distances. The main issue was the need to co-ordinate teams in multi-functional roles in an efficient and cost effective way. The team embarked upon a project to establish the needs of scheduling across a ship to allow teams to be effective in pursuit of their tasks and managers to anticipate resourcing issues before they became problematical.
